Visible Healthcare Ally Campaign
Let's Make A Change. Wear A Rainbow Pin.
Wear a rainbow pin, an "I'm an Ally" button, or add a rainbow sticker to your badge. Challenge yourself to be visible when at work.

By wearing a visible rainbow pin you are creating an accepting and supportive healthcare environment.
I Pledge To Be A Visible Healthcare Ally.
By being an ally I am not tolerant, I am accepting. I will be supportive of all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ) people. I will speak up for LGBTQ people because discrimination in a health care setting endangers LGBTQ people’s lives through delays or denials of medically necessary care. I will speak up because LGBTQ people deserve equality.

I acknowledge that when a LGBTQ person walks onto my hospital unit, medical clinic, or my place of practice, they may feel nervous, fearful, unwelcome, misunderstood, or generally questioning.

I understand that life long stigma and discrimination can cause LGBTQ patients to become discouraged when seeking care or prevent LGBTQ patients from disclosing all aspects of their health, behaviors, and needs.
I will be a Visible Healthcare Ally by placing a visible rainbow or ally pin on my badge, in patient rooms, or on the wall helps creates an accepting environment for LGBTQ patients. LGBTQ people find a sense of community with a rainbow symbol and it supports the creation potential connections.
